This Nationally Recognised Australian qualification applies to individuals who are, or are training to be fire protection technicians responsible for non-trade installation and regular servicing of fire protection equipment and systems. The qualification provides fire protection technicians with the certificates to follow the pathway of “Qualified Accreditation” in some categories available under FPASThis course is the current release 3.
Industry Work Performance
Records of inspection and testing activities completed on a prescribed number of sites and equipment.
Industry-compliant service records completed 6 months prior to training can also be submitted as evidence.
Tasks: Students will undertake a range of tasks that will require the creation of various documents, reports, and outcomes typical in the Industry. Some tasks require access to basic fire protection equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire extinguisher cabinets for installation.

Knowledge Tests: Students will undertake knowledge tests throughout their study— progressively as subjects are covered, completion of tests is required. Students may research the answers from the course training materials and notes as well as relevant references.
Written Reports: Students will produce a range of written records based on real testing and inspection records using templates and resources provided.
CompletionUpon successful completion, students will achieve the qualification CPP20521- Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing and a record of results.If all units are not completed within 6 months, a Statement of Attainment for completed units will be issued.
